Project overview
This villa project at Al Habtoor Polo Resort combined a motorized louvered pergola installation and fully fitted poolside outdoor kitchen with a separate shade sail installation over the driveway carport. As pergola contractors working across Dubai villas, this project shows the two most requested shade solutions we install: a permanent louvered pergola for daily entertaining space, and a lightweight shade sail for vehicle and walkway protection, combined on a single property.
The homeowner came to us with two separate problems to solve: an unused pool-deck area with no shade or seating, and a driveway that left cars exposed to direct sun for most of the day. Rather than treating these as two unrelated jobs, we designed a single project that used a permanent structure where the space called for daily use (the pool deck, kitchen, and dining area) and a lighter, more cost-effective shade sail where the requirement was simpler (vehicle protection over the carport). This is the kind of scoping decision we walk through with every Dubai villa client, not every space needs the same shade solution, and matching the right structure to the right use keeps the project on budget without compromising on the result.

Design highlights
The louvered pergola was positioned to open directly onto the pool deck, creating a shaded entertaining zone with uninterrupted views across the villa’s private pool and the open polo field beyond. The all-black aluminum framing and cabinetry give the space a modern, low-maintenance finish, while the adjustable louvers let the homeowner dial in shade coverage as the sun moves through the day.
The outdoor kitchen was integrated directly into the pergola footprint, so the BBQ, sink, and beverage fridge all sit under the same shaded roofline as the dining table. At the front of the villa, a separate shade sail was fitted over the driveway to protect vehicles without the cost or footprint of a full pergola structure.
